The most prominent medical entrance test in India is the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), and passing it gives aspirant medical professionals access to a wide range of chances. The path to becoming a doctor continues after the NEET test. The next crucial step is NEET counselling, where candidates are allotted seats in various medical and dental colleges across the country. NEET results  released on June 13, 2023. NEET UG Counselling 2023 will begin in July 2023 for individuals who received high scores.

The NEET counselling is conducted by the MCC (The Medical Counselling Committee), According to college reports, MCC has introduced 200+ additional medical seats across Maharashtra, Jammu Kashmir, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh etc. which might affect the ranking of students. NEET counseling will take place in four rounds: rounds 1 and 2, mop-up, and stray vacancy, with 15% AIQ counselling and 85% state-level counselling. Only those applicants are allowed for NEET UG Counselling 2023 who have met the minimum cut-off criteria and made it to the merit list 2023, MCC will conduct the AIQ NEET UG Counselling 2023 while the respective states conduct the state-level counselling 2023.

NEET UG Counselling procedure –

Step 1: NEET counselling registration-

  1. The following are the stages involved in NEET Counselling Registration:
  • Visit MCC’s official website and click on the ‘New Registration Round 1’ link.
  • Click on the ‘New Candidate Registration’ link, which is located just below the Sign In option. A new window will open. Before clicking the ‘I Agree’ button, please read the terms and conditions.
  • To sign up for NEET Counselling 2023, please provide the following information: Roll Number, Candidate Name, Mother Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Security Pin are all required fields. 
  • Please bear in mind that the email address and phone number you supplied on your NTA NEET application form will be used to register for counselling.

Step 2: NEET Counselling Fees in 2023 –

  • After successfully enrolling, candidates must pay the non-refundable NEET 2023 counselling registration costs as well as the refundable security deposit.
  • The cost can be paid online using a credit card, debit card, or net banking. Candidates may find the NEET counselling fee 2023 in the table below.

Step 3: Choice Filling and Locking in NEET Counselling 2023

  • On any given day, the Choice Locking facility is only accessible for a limited time.
  • Candidates must offer their choices at this stage. Because admission is provided based on merit, i.e. You should fill out the options with your NEET score and preferences in mind, since they will be given throughout the counselling process.
  • You can browse the list of colleges on the screen and select as many as you wish.
  • After filling out the options in the list, applicants can organize them in the order of their choosing by moving them up or down, swapping options, and removing options.
  • After that, enter your password and click the ‘Lock Choices’ button.
  • Candidates are not permitted to modify their selections after they have been locked in, so choose carefully.
  • After locking, they can print a list of the locked options, which will contain the locking date and time, the computer’s IP address, and a system-generated unique number.

Step 4: NEET Counselling Seat Allotment 2023

MCC publishes the seat allotment results of each round of counselling. It is made public in the form of a list, followed by the distribution of seat allotment letters to the chosen applicants. To complete the admission procedure, candidates must present to their assigned colleges with the allocation letter and other papers.

NEET UG Counselling 2023: Documents for Candidates Claiming NRI Status

The following documentation must be submitted to alter the categorization from Indian to NRI.

  • Affidavit from the sponsor stating that he or she will pay the candidate’s total course price.

NEET UG Counselling 2023 for 85% State Quota Seats-

State authorities will fill 85% of the remaining government medical college seats and 100% of the seats at state-sponsored medical institutions. NEET counselling will differ from state to state. Admission to MBBS in government colleges and State NEET counselling criteria would regulate admission to MBBS in government colleges and admission to private medical colleges.

NEET UG Counselling 2023: Eligibility Criteria –

NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) counseling eligibility criteria may vary depending on the specific counseling authority and their guidelines. some general eligibility criteria commonly considered for NEET counseling are –

Delhi University (DU) 15% of seats are available at DU-affiliated colleges (LHMC, UCMS, and MAMC). Candidates for Delhi State Quota Seats must have passed grades 11 and 12 at a Delhi-based institution.
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) reserves 50% of the seats, with the remaining 50% allocated through MCC NEET counselling. Candidates who have studied at AMU during the previous three years can apply under the institutional quota.

Candidates can visit the MCC of DGHS-designated Disability Centers throughout India to receive a Disability Certificate in order to benefit from the 5% PWD quota in medical courses.

AACCC ( Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee) conducts NEET Counselling 2023 for BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS for assignments of about 52,720 Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy seats.
